- Description: The Streator Standard has a new website, and an honest word about our publishing schedule.
- Author: The Streator Standard

The Streator Standard has a new website. Even a publication with strong opinions about downtown upkeep eventually has to spruce up its own storefront.

We’ve upgraded our online home, and we invite you to take a look, explore the stories, and subscribe to stay connected.

Along with the new website comes a modest announcement about our publishing schedule: we don’t have one to promise you.

Some weeks will bring more stories than others. Some subjects take longer to research. Sometimes life gets in the way. We’d rather be honest about that now than announce an ambitious schedule that becomes a historical document by Thanksgiving.

What we do promise is the same standard of reporting: careful research, useful context, honest questions, and a willingness to look beyond the headline. When we offer an opinion, we’ll give you the reasoning behind it. When we get something wrong, we’ll correct it.

We’ll keep writing about the people making Streator better, the history that helps explain this place, and the decisions shaping what comes next. We’ll celebrate good ideas and give proposed improvements the attention they deserve, including a few questions that might not fit comfortably on the ribbon-cutting program.

Streator has a remarkable past and a future worth taking seriously. This publication exists because we believe its stories deserve care.

Thank you for reading, sharing, sending tips, and giving us reasons to keep asking questions.

Visit [thestreatorstandard.com](https://www.thestreatorstandard.com/), explore the new site, and subscribe. We can’t promise when the next story will arrive. We can promise to put care into it.
