If you’ve ever dreamed of reliving your middle school triumphs in front of a cheering crowd—minus the acne and awkward slow dances—Northlawn’s got you covered.

This upcoming 2025–26 athletics season, Northlawn Junior High is going full-on nostalgic with four special nights dedicated to celebrating “Panther Excellence” from years past. It's part reunion, part pep rally, and part time machine back to a time when our biggest worries were spelling bees and whether our bangs were tall enough.

The events will honor:

The legendary 2002 State Champion Scholastic Bowl Team (where buzzers were hit faster than puberty)

The 1991 8th Grade Volleyball Team, who bumped, set, and spiked their way to a 3rd place state finish

The 1986 Cheer Squad, who earned 2nd place at State and probably started the first pyramid scheme that didn’t involve money

And the debut class of the Northlawn Panther Hall of Fame, because why should pro athletes have all the commemorative plaques?

This isn’t just a trip down memory lane—it’s a well-deserved moment in the spotlight for the student-athletes and coaches who built the Panther legacy long before hashtags and hydration stations.

So if you or someone you know helped put Northlawn on the map back then—whether you were the coach with the clipboards, the player with the headband, or the proud parent in the bleachers—Athletic Director Mike Burke wants to hear from you. Seriously. He might even name a concession stand item after you.

Reach out to him at mburke@ses44.net and let the reliving, remembering, and reuniting begin.

Because in Streator, we don’t just honor the past—we cheer it on from the stands.
