A Streator man is in custody after a house fire on the 1000 block of Everett Street Tuesday night led to a criminal investigation and an arrest on aggravated arson charges.

Timothy L. Sellers, 29, was taken into custody early Wednesday morning, just hours after the Streator Fire Department responded to the blaze at approximately 6:36 p.m. The fire caused significant heat and smoke damage to the two-story home.

According to Streator Police Chief John Franklin, the incident followed an ongoing domestic dispute involving family members inside the residence. Sellers was identified at the scene and arrested without further incident.

This is not the first time Sellers has drawn attention. In a recent Facebook post, he shared a provocative quote: “People say I’m a bad influence. I say the world’s already f\*ed—I’m just adding to it.” He also posted a photo of himself wearing a shirt that read “Protect This House”—a sentiment that now reads as bitter irony in the wake of the charges.

Born June 30, 1995, Sellers now faces serious legal consequences as the investigation continues. Authorities have confirmed that no injuries occurred during the incident, but the home sustained notable damage.

He is currently being held pending a court appearance. The Office of the State Fire Marshal and Streator Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fire.

More updates will be provided as this story develops.
