In a move that charms Main Street with hometown warmth, the Streator Chamber has named Three Wishes as the July 2025 Business of the Month. Nestled in the Main Street Market at 317 E. Main Street—alongside More on Main and Charlie Lou’s Boutique—the shop proves that supporting thoughtful local commerce can revive a city’s center without sacrificing its spirit.

Since opening in 2017, co-owners Jodie Hoffmeyer, Kim Tutoky, and Carrie Schmitz have curated a delightful mix of home décor, jewelry, oils, soaps, and—through their “Little Wishes” section—an enchanting nursery of baby and toddler goods. With brands like Kyte Baby, Copper Pearl, Itsy Ritzy, Warmies, and Masterworks Lighting, the store offers shoppers more than just a place to browse. It offers a place to linger, to connect, and maybe to remember how inspiring a good small-town shop can be.

Beyond their carefully chosen inventory, Three Wishes also offers personal shopping, design consultations, and custom orders. This isn’t retail as routine—it’s retail as relationship. Their stocklist reads like a manifesto of meaningful craft: vintage finds, air plants, handmade candles, upcycled goods, custom art, pottery, and a strong focus on self-care and local products. Each piece, each purchase, speaks to a slower, better way of doing things—one where quality, charm, and service take the lead.

Adding a dash of holiday cheer to midsummer, Three Wishes will join over a dozen local businesses for the Chamber’s “Christmas in July” event on July 25 and 26. As part of the festivities, shoppers can expect sales, specials, and a festive atmosphere that serves as a reminder of the power of community-centered celebration—even when there’s not a snowflake in sight.

The Chamber’s recognition of Three Wishes, captured in a smiling photo of Hoffmeyer, Tutoky, and Schmitz with Chamber President Ben Hiltabrand, Vice President Lori Snell, and Executive Director Derek Barichello, isn’t just about honoring one business. It’s about spotlighting the kind of entrepreneurship that makes downtown Streator not only worth visiting—but worth believing in.

Three Wishes reminds us that meaningful progress starts with asking what truly matters. In a time when it's easy to chase trends or settle for the status quo, this local gem shows that thoughtfulness, quality, and care still resonate. Streator has a rare opportunity to shape its future with intention—and businesses like this light the way forward.
