Jammin' Into Year Ten—With Music, Community, and One More Typo
There are few things more reliable in Streator than Circle K coffee, Joe's Pizza, and Jammin at the Clock showing up each summer to remind us that downtown still has a pulse. Now entering its 10th anniversary season, the beloved concert series is ready to fill Heritage Park with live music every Friday from 6 to 8 p.m., June through August—plus one bonus bash in City Park this year.
Co-founded by Toni Petit and Cinda Bond, Jammin at the Clock has quietly (and sometimes loudly) turned Friday nights into a ritual of lawn chairs, coolers, clapping, and people of all ages dancing in the streets around the Kerr Clock. It’s everything a small town could hope for in a free music series: fun, accessible, full of talent—and only rarely interrupted by sirens or Facebook arguments about who's allowed to save seats.
This year’s lineup is stacked with performers from across the Midwest, bringing genres ranging from Celtic folk to country, Motown to mariachi. The series kicks off June 6 with Noreen Stark, and hits its biggest crescendo on July 11, when Dancing Queen, a high-energy ABBA tribute band from Chicago, rolls into Plumb Pavilion in City Park for one night only.
That’s right. For one glorious Friday, the event will leave its cozy Heritage Park home and stretch out in City Park, because when you book ABBA (tribute), you go big or you go home.
And now for the elephant in the flyer...
Yes, there’s been a slight tradition developing right alongside the music: the annual Jammin’ flyer typo. For the second year in a row, the printed schedule made a couple of bands do the calendar shuffle. Like a drummer losing the beat and jumping back in on the wrong verse, the printed version had some folks showing up a week early for a band that wasn’t playing yet—and then staying anyway, because honestly, it’s still Jammin'. You’re not going to not clap.
So here’s the corrected, no-takebacks schedule for 2025:
- June 6 – Noreen Stark
- June 13 – Shindigs
- June 20 – Turas
- June 27 – Homegrown
- July 4 – Green’s Dream Project
- July 11 – Dancing Queen (ABBA Tribute) – Plumb Pavilion, City Park
- July 18 – Smith Brothers
- July 25 – River Road Trio
- August 1 – Country Roots
- August 8 – Mariachi Tecalitan
- August 15 – Quentin Flagg
- August 22 – Sinovi
- August 29 – Cadillac Groove
Whether you’re a faithful regular or a newcomer drawn in by the sound of saxophones bouncing off brick buildings, Jammin' at the Clock is everything Streator should be proud of. It's the kind of thing that doesn’t just make noise—it makes community.
So bring your chairs, bring your coolers, and maybe bring a Sharpie to correct that flyer. We’ll see you at the clock. Unless it’s July 11—then we’ll see you at the park.
Because for ten years now, Jammin' at the Clock has felt less like a concert series—and more like Streator’s front porch.
