“Not Your Dumpster”: Trash Dumpers Hit SGS Again

The dumpsters at Bodznick Field—home to Streator Girls Softball—have once again been filled with garbage that has nothing to do with softball. Photos show individuals unloading full truck beds into bins meant for field maintenance. Old furniture, trash bags, household junk—you name it, they’re dumping it.
And once again, volunteers are left cleaning up a mess they didn’t make.
Let’s be clear: SGS stands for Streator Girls Softball, not Streator Garbage Services. The league’s volunteers maintain the field for kids to play—not so others can save a few bucks on trash stickers.
“If someone knows who this is,” one volunteer posted, “could you remind them that once again SGS’s dumpster is not for other people’s crap?”
What’s especially frustrating is that many of these dumpers are driving around in nice trucks—clearly capable of hauling garbage, just not to the actual dump. Instead, they treat a kids’ sports field like a personal landfill.
SGS is run entirely by volunteers who are trying to teach kids teamwork and pride. Dumping trash here sends the opposite message.
If you recognize the folks doing this, let them know: It’s not your dumpster. It’s not your right. And it’s not okay.
