Woodland Blood Drive Wednesday Supports Scholarships
The Key Club drive runs 1 to 6 p.m. Wednesday in the school’s multipurpose room, and donations help graduating seniors earn scholarships.
Woodland High School will host an American Red Cross blood drive Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 1 to 6 p.m. in the school’s multipurpose room, 5800 E. 3000 North Road, Streator.
The event is listed on Woodland’s calendar as a Key Club blood drive. Donations will also help one or more graduating seniors earn a scholarship, according to the event announcement.
Blood donations support patients receiving cancer treatment, undergoing surgery or recovering from serious injuries. Because blood cannot be manufactured, hospitals depend on volunteer donors to help meet those needs, according to the Red Cross.
Appointments are preferred and can be scheduled at RedCrossBlood.org or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
Donors will receive a free T-shirt while supplies last, according to the event flyer.
Donors can save time by completing their reading and health history questions through RapidPass on the day of their donation, before arriving.
